We did an "Outcross" breeding between 2 breeds using 2 small individuals to try to create more small cats. First off, both the parents are very sweet and loving cats ~ however, the 6 kittens are of varying degrees of friendliness. Some shy and some very outgoing. They were raised the same as all of our pure-bred kittens are. These kittens started out very small. We are placing them in forever homes. I was hoping Sepia Tone might have had "Siamese" type cats in her background; this could have produced more small "Siamese Lynx Points". However no "Siamese" types were produced, just Tabbies were produced. If one of these Tabby kittens, called a "Hybrid", is bred back to a Siamese, both Tabbies and "Siamese" types are possible. Then, if one of these 2nd generation "Siamese" types is bred back to a Siamese, some of the kittens should be Siamese and hopefully most will be smaller. Using the smallest kittens through these generations will hopefully help to create smaller Siamese Lynx Points. They will be small as adults but not tiny. Probably around 7lbs. |
